Avalanche Herbaceous Peony First introduced in 1886,features six-inch, fully-double blossoms with a waxy, ivory-white hue. Opening in late mid-season, these exquisite flowers display a subtle pink center and occasional narrow crimson edges. The compact blooms are typically in-curved with the outer petals delicately re-curved from the ball-like center. Despite its strong fragrance, ‘Avalanche’ is not overly sweet. Reaching a height of 35 inches, this variety is a reliable bloomer with sturdy stems and lush foliage, making it ideal for both cutting and garden decoration. Widely revered as an heirloom, ‘Avalanche’ is synonymous with ALBÂTRE and is experiencing a resurgence in popularity. Act quickly as quantities are very limited. (Crousse, 1886).
