Meet Angela!

My fascination with peonies and all things floral began in 2016. It all started when my wonderful husband, Kurt, lost his beloved grandparents, Phil and Florence. Phil passed away shortly after Florence, both having lived a long and happy life together. They were married for an incredible 69 years and shared a deep love for gardening in their cherished home of over 60 years. While Phil tended to the garden, Florence would harvest and prepare meals. As an extended family, we were fortunate to enjoy the bountiful fruits of their labor. Among their favorite flowers were dahlias, which Phil took great joy in breeding to create his own varieties.
When they passed away, we wanted something that would keep their beautiful spirits alive. And what better way to do that than through the gift of blooming life? All of the grandchildren adored the enormous boysenberries and the magnificent peony bushes that thrived in their garden. Inspired by their love for these flowers, I decided to plant a peony bush in the middle of summer, although I had very little knowledge about peonies at the time. I grew frustrated when the plant didn't transplant well and my concerns grew.
The following year, the bush still refused to bloom, intensifying my frustration. Yet, with time, this frustration transformed into genuine challenge. Through hard work and perseverance, I was able to help Grandpa's peony thrive. I acquired new skills and techniques. Along the way, I purchased several more varieties in the hopes of achieving success. I was determined to see this plant blossom to its fullest potential.
Today, my garden is filled with Herbaceous, Itoh, and tree (woody) peonies. In addition, I also cultivate roses, irises, lilies, and tulips, and even grow my own food, particularly berries. Over the years, I've learned through trial and error, extensive research, reading, and seeking advice from experienced gardeners. My garden has become my second home, a sanctuary where I can de-stress, revel in the beauty of nature, spend quality time with my children, and rack up my daily step count.
Welcome to My Favorite Flowers & More, where we celebrate the beauty of nature and allow beauty to bloom. I hope you find everything you're looking for here.

Thankful section

My husband is the foundation of my life, without whom none of my achievements would be possible. He enables me to pursue my passions and with his unwavering love and support, he keeps me grounded, ensuring that I don't lose my head or misplace my keys. I am truly blessed to have such an incredible support system, which includes my wonderful husband, four amazing sons, a supportive family, and incredible friends. While peonies and other flowers beautify my garden, it is all of you who make my life truly extraordinary.

I am deeply grateful for the many gardeners I have had the pleasure of knowing and for those I have yet to meet, from whom I continue to learn and grow. I extend a special thank you to my friend Li, even though he is on the other side of the world, for his invaluable contributions to my knowledge and skills in gardening. I am eagerly looking forward to what the future holds in my journey with gardening. For me, planting a garden is not just about the present, but also a testament to my belief in tomorrow.
